Our Story
We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the museum. We still continue to add to our collection and have lots of new items for people to see.

Beamhurst Museum is a privately owned museum which has open weekends so the public can enjoy our collection as much as we do.

My name is John Walton and together with my wife Laura and daughter Bethany we open the doors to our museum and welcome you to look around. It was our dream to open a museum so people could enjoy our collection as much as we do.

We had our first open days in August 2010 and were overwhelmed by how many people came to visit - nearly 600 people in three days!!

Since then it has gone from strength to strength. We get lots of people returning year after year as we are always updating and changing the displays.

Don't get us wrong, it has not been easy and it has taken alot of dedication and hard work but as a family our love and passion for antiques and local memorabilia has continued to grow and being able to see the pleasure our collection gives to other people continues to inspire us.

The uniqueness of our collection and the range of items to see makes us stand out. We don't collect just one thing, there are over 1000 items related to Uttoxeter. A vast collection of clocks, prams, enamel signs, bikes, music boxes, brewery memorabilia, petrol globes, pumps, barrel organ, bottles, small carriages, radios, pottery, lamps, telephone boxes and much much more ..............and new for this year is a wonderful display of antique watercolours and oil paintings.

Since opening our Museum we have become very popular and John has appeared on a number of antique programmes including Salvage Hunters, Antique Road Trip and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.

Don't just take our word for it, these are some of the comments we have received from visitors:
"Best collection I have ever seen" "Highly recommended" "Wonderful trip down memory lane" "One word - AWESOME" "Excellent museum - worth several visits" "Very well put together" "Excellent one of the best museums we have been to"

We hope you can join us on one of our open days to see our wonderful collection. There is no charge to look around the museum but one thing we will say is give yourself plenty of time - there's alot to take in!!

The museum is all on one level and there is plenty of room for pushchairs and wheelchairs to get around.

We also accept groups bookings for evenings and weekends. Please see our bookings page for details.

We look forward to seeing you.
